Music: Saosin - You're Not Alone
It sort of seems weird writing here after months of not, but I would somewhat like to vent.
Sometime early yesterday morning, February 15 2007, a girl from my school took her own life. She was in the same grade as me, and we’ve had classes together in the past. I didn’t know her overly well, but we did know each other. We’d say exchange greetings when we saw each other and would strike a few random conversations. She always seemed like a fighter. Tough. And she always seemed to be generally happy. It was somewhat know that she may not have had the best family life, but given her tough character, nobody dreamt of this.
It’s really weird and hard to describe. I didn’t know her very well, yet there’s definitely a huge sense of loss. I’m not really sure how to describe it any further. When I found out yesterday, nothing really hit me. It’s all starting to bother me more now. It seems really hard to even fathom how bad of a life, or how bad of a life she thought she had, to go through with such a thing. I don’t know. It’s extremely sad, and I really don’t know what else to say about it. Rest in peace.

Music: Underoath - Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape
Oh, hello there. I didn’t see you there. I bet you’re surprised to see this new entry here. Actually, probably not, since this is probably the first time you’ve ever been to this site because the few people who may have “regularly” - that’s how you spell that right? haha.. That actually took me a minute or two to check around to make sure that’s how you spell it! I’m cool like that. - Oh wow. I think I may have overused the ” - “. (That’s not a smiley, btw.) I guess you’re not allowed to just put a ” - ” in and then write a few sentences in, then another ” - ” and expect the reader to just remember what was going on beforehand and continue reading regularly. (Anyone noticing a random-esque theme with this writing?) Okay.. so.. back to… ah yes. The people who may have been “regulars” are long gone and I can’t blame them. This entry is coming in just 5 days short of the 2 month point. Talk about active blogger, eh? “Eh?” How stereotypical of me, a Canadian, to say. I’m not gonna lie, I probably do say that quite often, though it kind of blends in with me talking so I don’t really notice it. Definitely don’t say “aboot” though for “about,” just incase you were wondering.
Wow, this is random. I thought I’d give a break for you in between the randomness, but I think, unintentionally, this may have just added to the random-factor. Don’t worry, I’m not hopped up on pills or anything like that. Well, I guess I could be hopped up on Penicillin, since I have a sinus infection or something of the sort. I’m quite convinced it isn’t helping though. Maybe I have the flu too. Can that happen? Two different things. Going by House, it can, which is what I’ll go by.
So anyways, it’s been pretty cold here lately. Well not really lately, but I have to talk in terms of months, so in the last month, it’s been considerably colder than it was, if I recall correctly, than it was on… Oct. 16. That only makes sense though, since it is December and I do live in Canada, as previously mentioned. The last week or so has warmed up a bit though, which is nice. *knocks on wood*
Okay, so perhaps you’re wondering… “what the hell have you been up to which has kept you away for 2 months?!” My answer: nothing too much. I wasn’t off “finding myself” or anything of the sort like you might be thinking. I didn’t take time away from the computer because I have a new-found life. I was still on the computer, it just seems like I never got around to writing one of these entry-mabobs out. Here I am, though, so everything’s good to go.
This entry is going to be long. Well it’s probably long right now. But it’s getting longer by the second. So anyone who comes is probably going to be like “Hey, he blogged!” followed by the “Holy shit, did he ever,” followed by the moving onto a website with a reasonably lengthed blog to read. Moving on…
School has been pretty uneventful from what I can recall over the past couple of the months. It has lately anyways. Tomorrow, my physics class is taking a little field trip over to one of the elementary schools in town to do some science demos. That should be pretty exciting, as long as the little kids don’t start “hating on me.” Whatevs, they’re just haters. haha.
This past weekend was quite amusing. My parents were gone to Edmonton to move some of my sister’s stuff, so I was here all by my lonesome. “Party?!” No, not in my house. On Friday I just hung out at a friend’s house with some people. And then a whole bunch of random people started showing up because they heard people were over. Like, it wasn’t supposed to be a “party” at all. Just a few people hanging out. But then a bunch of people who we barely knew started coming. Like, what goes through people’s heads? I know, unless it was supposed to be an actual party, that I wouldn’t just show up at someone I barely knew’s house to get drunk. Like.. awkward much? Maybe if it was me and a bunch of people, but not like me and a friend or two just walking in. That didn’t really make much sense. I’m just trying to say that unless it was actually a “part-ay” I wouldn’t just barge in unannounced.
On Saturday I hung out at a different friend’s house, but with a lot of the same people as on Friday. We all had a good time. Somewhere in the process, we broke the couch (it was old. It was its time.) and someone fell down the stairs. Not in a particularly painful way or anything. They were fine, it was just.. really funny. When we left, I went to one of the friends who I was hanging out with’s place. There were some amusing stories from that night, but I have a feeling they were all “had to be there” type of moments. You’d actually probably have to know the people too. Oh well.
I’ll be spending Christmas in Hawaii with my family this year. We leave on the 21st, I believe. Knowing me - and I like to think I know myself pretty well - this will be the last time you hear from me before then. So, assuming that I’m right, I’ll wish everyone Happy Holidays. Hopefully I will get in an entry before New Year’s. Hopefully.
Travis out.

Music: Cute Is What We Aim For - Sweet Talk 101
Blah. I really should write on here more often but I always have trouble thinking of what exactly to write.
Speaking of having trouble thinking of what to write, that was just the case with my english essay that was due this past Friday. We had roughly 2 entire weeks to work on the essay in class. That was the only thing we were working on - just the essay. So by nature, I’m a talkative person. I make conversation when there shouldn’t be any. That doesn’t come in handy when you should be working on important assignments. So 2 weeks and a few good conversations later, I come to the realization that the essay is due the next day and I haven’t written one word down yet. Not on the prewriting things. Not on anything. So okay, no real big problem. I’ve written entire essays in one night before. I can do it again. So to most people in my class’ surprise, I walked into class the next day and handed in a complete essay. Of course they all knew that I hadn’t done anything for the past two weeks. I do have a rather loud voice, after all. So I handed the essay in and then found out, along with most of the rest of the class, that we actually had time that day to work on it and the essay was actually due at the end of class. Oh well. The 4 or so other people who were done stayed back in the classroom and had another oh-so-exciting conversation about random things while the rest of the class finished up in the computer lab. So wait - I, of all people, was one of the very few who was actually prepared and done beforehand? Ironic much? I think so. I’ve yet to get the mark for it back.
Tomorrow I’m going to be DJing a dance. In the middle of the week? A Tuesday?! Honestly. That’s just ridiculous. I do go to school, people. I need sleep too. I can’t be up all night doing some dance that definitely won’t really be worth having. This was a dreaded event last year, and I’m not getting my hopes up that it’ll be much better this year. Oh well. I guess it’ll give the two people I DJ with and myself something to do.
That’s about it. Hopefully I’ll get another entry in here long before another month has passed. Oh yeah - we had our first real snow today. Real in that I think it’s actually sticking around. No pun intended. Har har har. The snow seems to just.. make things seem warmer inside. It’s sort of hard to describe. A friend and I had a chat about this earlier. On the snow note, I came relatively close to hitting the ditch on the way to school this morning. Haha… that was interesting. I was pretty calm throughout the ordeal so that sort of made it funny. Okay.. seriously.. that’s it. Goodbye.

Music: Filmmaker - Breathing Room
It’s been awhile since I’ve written anything here. Apparently I’ve just been occupied with other things until now.
A week ago and a bit ago, meaning not this past Wednesday but the one before that, my school’s SRC, which I’m part of, went to a provincial conference. It was a pretty good time. Basically all we did was listen to speakers, but they all had interesting things to say, so it didn’t really get boring or anything. My billet family was pretty cool. Luckily I wasn’t stuck with some old creeper people. haha. We got back home around 6pm on that Friday.
On Monday, since I had missed the passed couple of days of school - one of those days involving a test in Physics - I had to write that test, which I didn’t study for, as usual. I did much better than I felt I had done. I was happy with the 88 I got.
I seem to have picked up a bit of a cold somtime around Wednesday or Thursday of this past week. It’s nothing too bad, but it’s irritating. Hopefully it’ll clear up pretty soon. Perhaps a night on the town tonight will help? I think so. I was too lazy to bother heading out yesterday, so hopefully that’ll happen tonight. haha.
The season premier of Grey’s Anatomy was on Thursday. I was really pumped for it, but I was definitely at least a little disappointed with the episode. Oh well. I still love the show and will continue to wath it faithfully. Also on Thursday was the season premier of CSI. Just regular ‘ole CSI in Vegas. One of the ‘cases’ involved a Cirque du Soleil show, or so the info on my satellite said. That sort of drew me into the show, and got me curious as to whether they’d be in one of the real theaters. When the camera showed the audience area of the theater, I was greeted with a familiar space - the KA theater, which I was in when I was in Las Vegas last November. (It was really cool, by the way.) Not really a big deal, but I thought it was pretty cool that I’d been there. haha. :P
That’s about all I have to say… so… yeah. Ta ta.

Music: The Higher - Diaries
I think I’m going to try to start writing my entries how I would actually explain them in person. Apparently, I’ve gotten away from actually doing that. Sorry if I pile the sarcasm on. It’s just how I roll.
Okay, so school’s been alright so far. Actually, not really, but I guess I can deal with it. Bio’s boring. English is boring. Physics is meh. Math is not bad. I usually like sciences and maths, thus why I can somewhat endure Physics and Math. Basically though - my spare/s is/are the highlight of my day. Hopefully next semester won’t be quite so boring.
This past weekend was a long weekend. Not because it was boring, but because it was actually a day longer, in case you weren’t sure on that one. I can’t say I did anything all too exciting throughout, other than the party on Saturday night which was a rather good time. Good drinking times. Oh, the memories… or lack thereof. For the most part though - memories.
The MTV VMA’s were on last week. They don’t seem half as interesting as they once did. It’s as if they’ve just… lost what made them special,, which I can’t really put a finger on right now. Anyways - nothing exciting. If you didn’t catch them, you didn’t miss anything too exciting.
Yesterday, (I think.. that’s when I found out anyways) Steve Irwin, perhaps better known as The Crocodile Hunter, died while filming a new documentary. A stingray’s barb punctured his heart. It seems sort of weird since obviously what he did for a living was really dangerous, but it just never seemed as though he would get hurt doing it. RIP.
Ughh.. tomorrow I’ve got to get up early to be at school for an SRC meeting. Oh well. They can be pretty amusing given the people who are part of the meetings. haha.
That’s all of from me. Have a good one.
