Music: blink-182 - All Of This

The funeral for the person I wrote about in the previous entry was yesterday. It took place in a town about an hour and a half away from here. It’s where the girl was born. Even though it was out of town, there were still a lot of people who took the trip there - including me. I went there with a few friends, so there were some pretty fun times on the way there. I guess we were sort of subconsciously putting off what was coming up. The funeral was really tough. The whole thing didn’t really hit me until the casket was being wheeled out. The whole cemetary thing was so sad. A grandmother, I believe, at the cemetary completely broke down there and it was just heartbreaking. It just felt so weird that we were burying “one of us.” It shouldn’t be like that. Not now. I don’t know.

Changing subjects… who watched Grey’s Anatomy tonight?! Pretty intense. That’s pretty much all I”m going to say about the episode so don’t worry about spoilers if you don’t want to know what happened. I’ve yet to watch the final conclusion to The OC tonight. I’m not too concerned about it - if I see it, I see it - otherwise, no big deal. I’ve really lost interest in it, this season especially, and hearing that it got cancelled didn’t really surprise me.

Has anyone heard the new Anberlin album, Cities? I haven’t been able to pick up the disc yet since apparently it’s not released in Canada until next Tuesday, the week after initial release, but I do already have all the songs on my computer. I’m pretty happy with it. I’d have to say that my favorite song off the album is The Unwinding Cable Car so I suggest you give that a listen. You can hear that, along with the rest of the album on Anberlin’s myspace page.

That’s about all for now - Travis out.

It sort of seems weird writing here after months of not, but I would somewhat like to vent.

Sometime early yesterday morning, February 15 2007, a girl from my school took her own life. She was in the same grade as me, and we’ve had classes together in the past. I didn’t know her overly well, but we did know each other. We’d say exchange greetings when we saw each other and would strike a few random conversations. She always seemed like a fighter. Tough. And she always seemed to be generally happy. It was somewhat know that she may not have had the best family life, but given her tough character, nobody dreamt of this.

It’s really weird and hard to describe. I didn’t know her very well, yet there’s definitely a huge sense of loss. I’m not really sure how to describe it any further. When I found out yesterday, nothing really hit me. It’s all starting to bother me more now. It seems really hard to even fathom how bad of a life, or how bad of a life she thought she had, to go through with such a thing. I don’t know. It’s extremely sad, and I really don’t know what else to say about it. Rest in peace.

Oh, hello there. I didn’t see you there. I bet you’re surprised to see this new entry here. Actually, probably not, since this is probably the first time you’ve ever been to this site because the few people who may have “regularly” - that’s how you spell that right? haha.. That actually took me a minute or two to check around to make sure that’s how you spell it! I’m cool like that. - Oh wow. I think I may have overused the ” - “. (That’s not a smiley, btw.) I guess you’re not allowed to just put a ” - ” in and then write a few sentences in, then another ” - ” and expect the reader to just remember what was going on beforehand and continue reading regularly. (Anyone noticing a random-esque theme with this writing?) Okay.. so.. back to… ah yes. The people who may have been “regulars” are long gone and I can’t blame them. This entry is coming in just 5 days short of the 2 month point. Talk about active blogger, eh? “Eh?” How stereotypical of me, a Canadian, to say. I’m not gonna lie, I probably do say that quite often, though it kind of blends in with me talking so I don’t really notice it. Definitely don’t say “aboot” though for “about,” just incase you were wondering.

Wow, this is random. I thought I’d give a break for you in between the randomness, but I think, unintentionally, this may have just added to the random-factor. Don’t worry, I’m not hopped up on pills or anything like that. Well, I guess I could be hopped up on Penicillin, since I have a sinus infection or something of the sort. I’m quite convinced it isn’t helping though. Maybe I have the flu too. Can that happen? Two different things. Going by House, it can, which is what I’ll go by.

So anyways, it’s been pretty cold here lately. Well not really lately, but I have to talk in terms of months, so in the last month, it’s been considerably colder than it was, if I recall correctly, than it was on… Oct. 16. That only makes sense though, since it is December and I do live in Canada, as previously mentioned. The last week or so has warmed up a bit though, which is nice. *knocks on wood*

Okay, so perhaps you’re wondering… “what the hell have you been up to which has kept you away for 2 months?!” My answer: nothing too much. I wasn’t off “finding myself” or anything of the sort like you might be thinking. I didn’t take time away from the computer because I have a new-found life. I was still on the computer, it just seems like I never got around to writing one of these entry-mabobs out. Here I am, though, so everything’s good to go.

This entry is going to be long. Well it’s probably long right now. But it’s getting longer by the second. So anyone who comes is probably going to be like “Hey, he blogged!” followed by the “Holy shit, did he ever,” followed by the moving onto a website with a reasonably lengthed blog to read. Moving on…

School has been pretty uneventful from what I can recall over the past couple of the months. It has lately anyways. Tomorrow, my physics class is taking a little field trip over to one of the elementary schools in town to do some science demos. That should be pretty exciting, as long as the little kids don’t start “hating on me.” Whatevs, they’re just haters. haha.

This past weekend was quite amusing. My parents were gone to Edmonton to move some of my sister’s stuff, so I was here all by my lonesome. “Party?!” No, not in my house. On Friday I just hung out at a friend’s house with some people. And then a whole bunch of random people started showing up because they heard people were over. Like, it wasn’t supposed to be a “party” at all. Just a few people hanging out. But then a bunch of people who we barely knew started coming. Like, what goes through people’s heads? I know, unless it was supposed to be an actual party, that I wouldn’t just show up at someone I barely knew’s house to get drunk. Like.. awkward much? Maybe if it was me and a bunch of people, but not like me and a friend or two just walking in. That didn’t really make much sense. I’m just trying to say that unless it was actually a “part-ay” I wouldn’t just barge in unannounced.

On Saturday I hung out at a different friend’s house, but with a lot of the same people as on Friday. We all had a good time. Somewhere in the process, we broke the couch (it was old. It was its time.) and someone fell down the stairs. Not in a particularly painful way or anything. They were fine, it was just.. really funny. When we left, I went to one of the friends who I was hanging out with’s place. There were some amusing stories from that night, but I have a feeling they were all “had to be there” type of moments. You’d actually probably have to know the people too. Oh well.

I’ll be spending Christmas in Hawaii with my family this year. We leave on the 21st, I believe. Knowing me - and I like to think I know myself pretty well - this will be the last time you hear from me before then. So, assuming that I’m right, I’ll wish everyone Happy Holidays. Hopefully I will get in an entry before New Year’s. Hopefully.

Travis out.

Back To School
Music: The Higher - Pace Yourself

Tomorrow’s the first day of classes back from summer. -sigh- Summer seems to have gone by really fast. I’m somewhat looking forward to going back to school, but I’m sure the novelty will be gone after the first day or two at the most. I picked up my schedule last week and found out that it was insane. My first semester was all Sciences and Math. I tend to like those classes, but I doubt I’d be able to handle an entire semester of JUST them. So I got things switched around, so things are spread out a bit more now. My schedule is like so:

First Semester:
Biology
English
Spare
Spare/Band
Physics
Math A30

Second Semester:
Info Processing (Computers)
Media Studies
Math B30
Spare/Band
History
Chemistry

For the most part I’m happy with the teacher’s I’ve got, although I didn’t get the one I had really hoped I would for English. Oh well. I’ll cross my fingers for next year.

I haven’t been up to too much lately. Just relaxing and whatnot. I was at school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week doing some SRC stuff getting ready for school to start. Tomorrow I’ve got to be at school at 8am, even though classes don’t actually start until 9, to hand out suckers and whatnot to people coming in. Pretty exciting, I know.

Last night I went out with some friends to another friend’s house for a so-called party. It wasn’t really a party and for the most part was pretty boring, except for one guy who was there. We didn’t really know him but he was our entertainment for the night. He was a random one. And I like random things. So I guess that worked out just great. He was talking on his cell and randomly started screaming things and.. -sigh-. It was hilarious. You won’t think it’s funny. But whatever - just because I’m cooler than you, of course.

I’ve really haven’t got anything else to write about so yeah. Tata.

Off To Edmonton
Music: The Early November - Dinner At The Money Table (Acoustic)

It’s already August, -sigh-, which means that summer is more than half over. School begins on the 28th, but I’ll have to be there on the 21st for SRC related stuff. The first few days really won’t be too bad though because we’ll just be planning stuff and making up some skits to perform for the school and whatnot. Should be pretty fun actually, considering the rest of the people who are part of it.

My mom and me will be heading to Edmonton tomorrow, bright and early. We’re pretty much just going for the shopping - clothing, school supplies and whatnot - since my sister’s no longer there. (She’s going to school in Australia for this semester, if you didn’t know.). I haven’t really been out of town this summer, so this should be good. We plan on coming back home on Sunday.

Wow, I really haven’t written anything here for a long time. About a week ago, me and a few friends rented a cabin out at the lake and had a bit of a shindig. I suppose it would’ve been more fun if the party hadn’t been broken up at 11pm when the manager people kicked everyone, except the people who were actually staying in the cabin, out. Most of the people left at that time, and the manager people said it was okay with the amount of people who stayed behind and hung out. Eventually, all but the 6 of us who were staying there left. The rest of the night - after everyone left - was rather amusing aswell, though. Finally at 4am we all called ‘er quits and went to bed, only to be awaken at 9:30am by the managers who made us help clean up the cabin. Apparently, when they kicked everyone out the first time, they noticed how horrifically filthy the place was. At about 11am we were finished doing our part of the cleaning and we headed out of there. All things considered, the head-honcho-manager-guy was pretty cool about the whole thing. At least he never kicked us out.

This past weekend, on Friday night, someone from here who’s a grade ahead of me, got beaten up really bad while on a camping trip with some of his buddies. I don’t really know the guy. We’ve maybe talked a couple of times for a few brief moments, but for the most part - I just know who he is. Quite a few of my friends, however, are pretty close with the guy. He was hit with a big piece of firewood in the head and is still in critical condition at a hospital near where he was camping. He’s had several surgeries, and the right side of his body is now paralyzed. The person who did it is being charged with aggrivated assault and assault with a deadly weapon. It hardly seems fair that that’s all he’s being charged with. Paralyzed. Hopefully everything works out okay. The guy’s definitely in a lot of people’s prayers.

That’s about the extent of the excitement around here. Perhaps I’ll go find a movie to watch now. Ooo.. I should probably pack first. Yeah. Good idea. Toodles.
